WE ARE THE OXFORD BELLES: OXFORD UNIVERSITY'S ORIGINAL ALL-FEMALE ACAPPELLA GROUP
Established in 1995 to combat Oxford's male-dominated music scene, the Belles are known for their sassy attitude and kickass arrangements of girl power anthems.
Over the past couple of years, we've spread our message of empowerment up and down the country. We released our viral video, Girls Just Want to Have Fundamental Rights), to celebrate International Women's Day. It gained an incredible amount of coverage from the BBC to The Evening Standard, and even from Cyndi Lauper herself. We also performed at Doughty Street Chambers' International Women's Day event for a group of incredibly successful and inspirational women.
The last couple of years have been more exciting than ever! Our top moments have included working closely with NBC to promote the release of the movie, Pitch Perfect 3, releasing our single 'That's My Girl', and taking our original show, 'Women of Note' to the Edinburgh Fringe to celebrate the centenary of women's suffrage, where we raised money for the Malala Fund, a charity which supports women's right to education.
